Chapter 5: The Evil is Revealed

Icepaw shivered as she stepped outside the den. Firestar had let her stay with Jayfeather, and Icepaw smiled as she saw him come out after her. Then she raced over to Firestar. He said, " Go on patrol with Lionblaze, Dovepaw, and Destinywind. " She nodded, trying to mask her fear. Lionblaze stood waiting for her, and ran out as soon as she joined them. Dovepaw saw the wild fear in her eyes, however. She knew then her mother would strike during this patrol.

Chapter 3: Becoming an Apprentice

Icekit shivered with excitement as she gazed up at the Highledge. She was becoming an apprentice! She would be able to fight! A thrill rushed through her as she realized she could avenge her sister's death soon. Her mother came up to her and she backed away, then turned and ran to the one place she found comfort: the medicine den. Jayfeather heard her and turned around. Icekit scampered over to him and hid from her mother, and he calmed her down.
About an hour later...
Icekit held her head high as she trotted over to Highledge. Firestar began the ceremony. He finally told her, " I will be your mentor. " She smiled happily.

ThunderClan Arrival

Icekit opened her eyes and saw a stramge tom standing over her. She asked, " Where am I? Where is Dawnkit? " The strange tomcat purred at her and said, " You are in ThunderClan, but... " " But what? " " Dawnkit's.... your mother killed her. "
" No!!!! Why why why?! " " Hush, young one. I'm Jayfeather. " " I should have... but she was... " Then she saw her mother reach her claws over and slash her throat and she screamed.

Beginning of the End

Icekit opened her eyes and got up. She heard her mother arguing with her father, Venom. Dawnkit was standing by the entrance listening. Icekit heard the words she always dreaded come out of her mother's mouth... " Kill the kits. "
She and Dawnkit raced over to a high tree and tried to escape, but they were not good climbers and failed. Destinywind caught them and threw them on the ground. She hissed, " Greet StarClan for me, kits. " Iceskit saw her bite Dawnkit's throat and then heard the squeal of her sister. Then her world went black.
